Meggan Spehar - Getting Ready for IRE 2022

IRE Podcast with Meggan Spehar
November 10, 2021 at 8:30 a.m.

By Colin Sheehan, RCS Reporter.

Your favorite in-person events are back for the upcoming IRE! Are you ready for the big event?

In Season 3, Episode 66 of Roofing Road Trips, Heidi J. Ellsworth visits with Meggan Spehar about the big event set to hit in 2022, the International Roofing Expo (IRE). Taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana the first week of February, the IRE is the largest roofing conference in North America. Meggan shares new events, initiatives and the low down on what all will be happening. RoofersCoffeShop® will be there capturing the event with LIVE interviews and LIVE Coffee Conversations through the RCS YouTube Channel. Listen to this podcast to hear everything you need to know before you step foot in New Orleans.

The upcoming IRE features a packed itinerary, including more than 60 education sessions and a full, robust expo hall with hundreds of the top industry suppliers and manufacturers showcasing their latest products and services.

“We'll have some live product demos on the show floor and some of our product clinics have come back. We'll have our product showcase again on the show floor. We're going to have those outdoor exhibit events again, like the wonderful SRS tailgating event,” said Meggan. She continues by adding, “Our networking events are going to be there, the welcome party and first-time attendees' reception, as well as the NRCA events and the National Women In Roofing Day. I’m so excited. It's going to be such a full event.”

Meggan was also delighted to announce that the keynote session will be back for this IRE after having to omit them for previous shows considering the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that the community service day project, which is held every year at IRE, will be held in-person just like old times. The donations collected from the community service day will go towards Rebuilding New Orleans, which is still struggling from last year’s hurricane.

“The other thing is NRCA events are back and in full force. They're going to be holding their training sessions, their most popular ones, which are the fall protection from A to C and the foreman leadership level one,” said Meggan. “The NRCA ROOFPAC reception is going to be there as well as the NRCA awards ceremony and cocktail reception. We're going to have the Roofing Alliance Construction Management student competition back at the show and again, and you're going to be able to watch those hands-on pro certification exams on the show floor.”

Listen to the entire podcast for more details on the exciting events that will take place in New Orleans in February!
