Back in March 2024, Megan Ellsworth got the chance to meet up with Dave Beiler while at the International Roofing Expo (IRE). Dave works with Equipter, which was founded by Dave’s father, Aaron Beiler. They pioneered the Equipter 4000 lift based on the experiences they had as a family-run roofing replacement company. This tool combines a scissor lift with a self-propelled trailer to increase contractors’ productivity, profitability and professionality by allowing for a better debris collection process. Now, they’re pushing the boundaries again with the Equipter 7000!
The 2024 IRE was the trade show debut for this new tool and Dave gave Megan a quick explanation as to what sets it apart from the crowd, “One of the main differences is that it goes twice as high as the 4000, up to about 25 feet.” It also has multiple uses! By using the trailer attachment, it can haul materials and debris, but you can also replace that with a fork attachment and make it a telehandler. On top of that, this trailer comes with its own hitch! Dave explained, “Think of it like a towable boom handler that is configurable with units like a box or forks.” This entire system also has remote control capabilities and a variety of steering modes to make sure it is in the right position when you need it!
In addition to the Equipter 7000, they are producing more innovative tools, like the Equipter Tow-A-Lift, their towable forklift. Dave elaborated, “It can be towed behind your truck and then you have a forklift on your job site!” It is cleared to travel on all terrain and can lift up to 3,5000 lbs. The 8ft arm is able to telescope and be controlled as a remote unit.
