Editor's note: The following is the transcript of a live interview with John Olson of Malco Tools. You can read the interview below or watch the full interview.
Lauren White: Hey everyone, I'm Lauren White with Roofers Coffee Shop here at IRE 2024, and we are in the Malco booth with John. You wanna introduce yourself?
John Olson: John Olson, the learning and Product Training manager at Malco Tools.
Lauren White: Awesome. How's the show been for you? We're at day two.
John Olson: The show's been great, Lauren, thanks for asking. It really has been fun to get to interface with all these contractors and really get to see and hear their expressions when they see the new products.
Lauren White: So new products, what are we highlighting here this year?
John Olson: So we've long awaited the seamer and Cutter. They're available to order. We've got 'em in stock and ready. People have been stopping by and asking for 'em. We continue to grow our metal roofing, uh, breadth of product and so we've got our beers and our diss that we were showcasing last year at Malcon and IRE and we're really just excited to have 'em in stock and ready to ship.
Lauren White: Great. And what are attendees, what's attendee feedback? What are you hearing from people so far?
John Olson: Well, it's really exciting to be at a show with Malco because typically they're really excited about the quality of the tools and we really lean into the core values of together. We are Malco at shows like this because we bring people from sales, engineering, marketing, all the different parts of the business to be able to talk with the various players at a show like this. The contractors are great to work with as well as the different business partners like yourselves.
Lauren White: Awesome. Well thank you for your time and enjoy the rest of the show.
John Olson: Thank you. Enjoy. A great tool here at the show is our Mc 12 L quickly and easily. You can cut long continuous cuts, but you can also make nice short bends or cuts, excuse me, in the material without having to worry about switching between aviation snips and a pattern snip. Quick and easy to use. Great option for the roofer.
Hello and thank you for joining us at IRE. I'm John Olson learning proc training manager with Malco Tools, and we're here to show you our one station tools, our two station tools, as well as our line of discs. Really quick, you're gonna set the depth of your bend. You're gonna roll onto an edge, and then you're just gonna apply a little bit of upward pressure. You're gonna easily be able to see, see that go up to a 90 degree. With our 80 degree roller or a hundred degree total available angle, you're gonna stop from, uh, admiring the panels and you're gonna be able to quickly and easily transition to a disc.
With the disc, you can make a 180. Again, you're gonna apply it pressure as you go side to side. Any of these tools are available from our Malco distributors. So check out your local distributor and ask them to order you in a Malco bender. At Malco, we understand that impacts are really what contractors are using on the job. We've got our CX saw tooth, which is a great tool for being able to quickly remove coated fasteners. Nice part about that product is it has quarter and five sixteens in one size, and if it gets plugged, you can use the drive side of the socket to, or the shaft to push anything out of the socket that may be stuck. Another great product for ALCO this year is we've made our tried and true HC one impact ready. So you saw me slip that onto the tool. You quickly and easily get to work.
