Korellis Roofing, located in Hammond, Indiana, donated time, labor and materials to repair the roof of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana.
The Boys and Girls Club works to inspire and enable disadvantaged youth to realize their full potential as responsible citizens. They are committed to reaching every young person that enters their doors to help them create a meaningful, caring life. All members are provided with plans for the future and aid in strengthening their character and lifestyle habits. They believe every kid has what it takes and understand that no one should be left behind.
Korellis Roofing has had a long-standing relationship with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana and have worked in the past with them as both a contractor and philanthropic benefactor. They see the impact the Boys and Girls Club has on their community by empowering young people to pursue brighter futures.
“The Boys and Girls Club has always been an organization close to our hearts at Korellis,” said Senior Commercial Estimator Phil Junge in an interview conducted by reporter Joseph S. Pete. Junge has worked at Korellis since 1997 and remarks on the company's generosity, “As a company, we feel extremely fortunate that we are able to give back to a community that has provided so many opportunities for us.”
Korellis Roofing is entirely employee owned and one of the largest roofing contractors in northwest Indiana and the greater part of Chicago. It began in 1960 with George Korellis starting the business in his own home and is now led by Pete Korellis. The company’s original principles of honesty, integrity and customer satisfaction have held strong since the start.
“This area has experienced roof leaks and various related issues for some time,” said Junge. Everyone at Korellis feels thankful that they are able to provide labor, materials and financial support for their community. “We are grateful to be donating close to $60,000 in roofing labor and materials to replace over 5,000 square feet in an area of the building that critically needs the upgrades,” continued Junge.
The donations to the Boys and Girls Club in Indiana also includes $5,000 from Midwest Roofing Supply and $5,000 from Architectural Construction Products Inc. Both companies have been long-term suppliers for Korellis.
