Keep on roofing down to 20 degrees

DaVinci Roofscapes - Keep The Cash Flowing in Cold Weather (On Demand)
January 30, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

By DaVinci Roofscapes.

The engineered resin systems in DaVinci tiles mean they remain flexible to temperatures down to 20 degrees, allowing for additional installation time.

Roofers don’t need to call it quits just because the temperature dips below 40 degrees. Composite slate and shake shingles from DaVinci Roofscapes are made with a special proprietary blend of polymers, allowing them to be installed even when temperatures drop to 20 degrees… providing roofers with more roofing time on the jobsite.

While cold weather roofing conditions may not be ideal for asphalt and other types of roofing materials, when treated right, composite roofing tiles are just fine for installations in frigid temperatures. The engineered resin systems in DaVinci tiles mean they remain flexible to temperatures down to 20 degrees, allowing for additional installation time. And this extra time can mean more cash flow for your business.

For roofers not used to cold weather installations, DaVinci offers a list of 10 Tips for Cold Weather Roofing on their website. In addition, there’s a Read Listen Watch® (RLW) available from RoofersCoffeeShop entitled “Keep the Cash Flowing in Cold Weather” where roofer Josh Yandle with Umbrella Roofing and Lars Walberg with Rocky Mountain Snow Guards join in with DaVinci’s Zach Stopyro to offer best practice tips for installation of composite roofing and snow guards in winter weather conditions.

“We do a huge amount of DaVinci projects in the winter,” says Josh. “It’s been crucial for us in retaining employees because it’s a seasonal area where we’re at. A lot of companies will end up laying off their employees, which gives us a big opportunity to hire new employees. Number one, because we’re able to work through Christmas we can hire people. And then we start work in March, so the companies that aren't starting until May, June and July, their employees are knocking on our door.”
