Everyone knows that to succeed in business, you must have goals. But all too often, we set them, get really excited about them and then, as if by magic, they start to fade into the background as the daily grind produces new projects, deadlines and/or emergencies that must be dealt with. Like many other folks, we’ve learned that to succeed, not only do we have to set goals, but we also have to track them. And, more than that, we really need to track them on a regular basis.
Last year, Integrity Insurance & Bonding took our goal setting to a whole new level with the use of technology. We have been using a program called Klipfolio to track our goals using custom dashboards for our team as well as individual sales staff. The software allows us to track our goals, visually, using charts and graphs to show progress in real time. We are able to customize layouts and color schemes to match our branding and we use the technology like a scoreboard. Our team reviews it regularly and we constantly know if we’re on target to achieve success. We can also see where we are falling short with goals, and change course if necessary.
Our core values at Integrity are work hard, play hard, grow and give back. It’s always important to add an element of play into the hard work we do. For us, the “scoreboard” theme has helped tracking our goals seem fun – rather than mundane. Our progress is easy to visualize and we always know right where we stand with our KPIs.
And finally, we always find a way to celebrate our success! We use buzzers, music, confetti and party hats – anything we can think of to celebrate a win and add a little fun to our work environment. Little things like this make a big difference in our company culture. Not only does it help us stay on target to win, internally, but it attracts others (both clients and potential recruits) to want to work with us.
