In an episode of Roofing Road Trips®, host Heidi J. Ellsworth did a live interview with Evan Klaus from Leap at the RoofersCoffeeShop® soundstage at the Western Roofing Expo. Together they discussed key strategies for roofing contractors to enhance efficiency, customer perception, and the overall quality of their services.
Evan, a sales manager at Leap, emphasized the importance of delivering quality work professionally and efficiently. "It's about delivering quality work, and doing it in a professional manner, and getting things done on time and under budget, or on budget at the very least," he said. This approach is crucial in a trade where reputation and customer referrals are paramount. Evan pointed out that even a high-quality completed job could lose its shine if it's delayed. “You're never going to get that referral. That's a one-and-done job right there."
In a market where customers often consult reviews and seek multiple estimates, presenting a digital, streamlined and transparent process is essential. Leap’s SalesPro, a sales tool developed to help contractors bid for jobs, ensures that the sales process is efficient and professional. Evan shared his personal experience of buying a house online, contrasting it with the traditional approach in roofing that often still relies on paper. “I didn't even meet the loan officer, everything was done online,” Evan said. “We're really focused on roofing companies. We want to make sure that they have a really great process in place from start to finish.”
For roofing contractors, embracing digital tools isn't just about keeping up with the times; it's about ensuring the business's longevity and relevance. As Evan explained, “I hear it all the time, you got old dogs on your team, you don't want to teach them new tricks. But over time, once they see it work for them, it just changes everything.”
