How to Have a Focused Offense in Your Business

Sales Transformation Group Focused Offense in your Business
February 10, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

By Lauren White, RCS Reporter.

Discover what you can learn from watching football and how you can apply it to your business.

With football season in full swing, Ryan Groth, the founder of the Sales Transformation Group, shares, “...it’s time to see offenses in the NCAA or NFL go up against some of the best talent in the world to stop them from scoring.”  While the games are entertaining to watch, he urges business owners to think about how well offense is being played in their businesses.

Professional teams, and companies, think about how they’re going to, “...purposefully put up points against this week’s defense,” Ryan explains.  These teams have a playbook with plays for their players to run, they look at game film to see where they can improve, “...reading defenses and executing the plays in the playbook.”

However, if your business is comparable to a pick-up football game, you’ll more likely see players, not professionals, running around making an effort to get open.  Ryan cautions, “If that’s how you’re running your business, you’re going to get swallowed up by professional defenses (higher-level commercial accounts).”

In his video blog he shares, “insights as to how you can move from a scattered team to a focused offense like you’re seeing on Saturdays and Sundays primetime.”  In doing so, your business will be playing offense like the professionals do.

There are four highlights Ryan explains in more detail so businesses can accomplish this.

It’s important for businesses to have a defined championship and to know whether they’re winning or losing.  Additionally, players should have a playbook with specific offensive plays. And lastly, “businesses need coaching in order to provide real-time feedback to get the most out of their players,” Ryan notes.

If that is the type of culture you want to foster in your business, schedule a call with Ryan.  He reveals, “I can promise you that your competition is training, giving coaching, receiving coaching, working and desiring to beat you.”  As you’re watching football this weekend, envision how your business can be playing offense like the professionals you’re watching. Ryan wants you to remember, “If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.”
