How Everroof dominates the roof coatings market

Get to know the history of Everroof, a leading company in the roof coatings market. 

As the roof coatings market continues to grow, one company continues to be a leader of the pack: Everroof. For over three decades, Everroof has been manufacturing top-of-the-line roof coatings for roofing contractors across the country. In a recent podcast, we spoke with Barry McConway, president of Everroof, about the history of the company and what sets them apart from the rest of the roof coatings market. 

Although Barry has only been the president of Everroof since April 2023, he has been in the roof coating industry for over 20 years. He outlines the history of Everroof, discussing how they are a sister company to General Coatings Manufacturing, who mainly manufactures spray foam roofing products. When General Coatings was acquired by American Polymers in 2012, they did a reevaluation of their products and decided to create Everroof as a brand that focused more specifically on silicone and acrylic coatings. 

“When they were looking at the list of materials that General Coatings had, what stood out really notably was that they had great silicones and acrylic coatings that they were using on top of their foams for their jobs that they were doing,” Barry said. “We really looked at it and said, ‘Okay, let's leave General Coatings alone, but let's create Everroof.’” 

Everroof is a unique roof coating company because they have been spending the past decade doing thorough research and product development with their roof coatings. Rather than focusing on making a quick buck with lots of sales, they are more devoted to developing their products and partnerships with contractors. 

“We're not trying to make the big splash and the quick sale. I think that we're really into it from key partnerships and relationships and honoring those over a period of time, building it on a slow, steady pace,” Barry said. “We're going to take our time and we're going to do it through great relationships and longstanding customers.”
