How Adopting Photogrammetry Can Benefit Your Service Business – Part One

Imagine Technologies photogrammetry
August 18, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

By Imagine Technologies Group.

After finding success with utilizing drone photogrammetry, Imagine Technologies Group shares how other businesses can benefit from this technology.

Imagine Technologies Group was founded about two years ago after our sister company, Division 7 Roofing, invested in photogrammetry with drones. After embracing drone imagery enhancements across our company, we wanted to provide a simple path for other contractors to follow in our footsteps.

Imagine Technologies Group was founded by roofers and is for roofers. We differentiate ourselves from other technology companies in our industry because we use our sister company, Division 7 Roofing, for real-world tests on the products we develop, recommend or resell. Our goal is to elevate the roofing industry by use of technology.

What we do

We have developed a training program that takes one from zero to hero on drone piloting and photogrammetry techniques called Partners Drone U. We are resellers of the Optelos platform; this is the cloud-based program that makes our visual data functional and shareable. Our current stance is that drones do not replace boots on the roof, but rather augments them.

Outside of drones, we are constantly testing cutting-edge products in a real-world roofing company. We aim to inspire you to adopt drone photogrammetry in your roofing operations. It’s the opening bell of a new era.

What is photogrammetry?

Merriam-Webster defines photogrammetry as, “The science of making reliable measurements by the use of photographs and especially aerial photographs (as in surveying).” Essentially, we are taking a series of 2D images and stitching them together for a composite image or we are making 3D models.

How can adopting drone photogrammetry benefit my service business?

This technology offers the chance for powerful customer engagement. It helps you meet with customers digitally, anywhere in the world and gives them a tour like you’re both on the roof. You can show customers the condition of their roof over time and help leverage your recommendations to them.

Imagery can also include anything on the outside of the building. High resolution imagery enhances the aesthetic appeal of proposals. You’ll also see an increase in your revenue. Better estimates equal more sales and new revenue stream opportunities. You can offer standalone and supplemental imagery services and Optelos tenant spaces can be sold to customers.

Stay tuned for part two where we share more about project management benefits as well as why to adopt this technology.
