Head to Western Roofing Expo, Virtually

Who’s ready to launch into the virtual Western Roofing Expo on July 1-15, 2020?

Whether you’re at home or working in your office July 1-15, 2020, join Western States Roofing Contractor Association (WSRCA) for their first-ever Virtual Western Roofing Expo (VWRE).  Due to travel bans and government restrictions limiting how many people can gather in the same place, the Western Roofing Expo will not be taking place in Las Vegas.  Knowing the value and importance of bringing roofing contractors together with manufacturers and suppliers in the industry, WSRCA adjusted to this “new normal” and made plans to host the show virtually!

WSRCA President, Leo Ibarra states, “In these unprecedented times, Western States has found ways to still bring you education on new and inventive products.  That’s what this Association is all about; continuing to adapt the industry in this ever-changing world.  I am honored to be a part of such an incredible organization and can’t wait to see you at the virtual expo.”

Although registrants won’t be packing their bags and traveling to Las Vegas, they will have access to the same information and opportunities virtually.  They’ll be able to participate in members-only raffle prizes, hear legislative updates from WSRCA’s Washington insider Craig Brightup and enjoy the Scholarship Award Ceremony.  

WSRCA Executive Director, Thomas Papas shared, “As you have come to expect from the Western States Roofing Contractors Association, we have turned this challenge into an opportunity for the industry.”

Registrants can explore the virtual trade show and discover new products and services.  They’ll be able to easily search by company, booth number or keyword to find exhibitors and show specials on roofing products.  While participants won’t be shaking hands and meeting with exhibitors in person, they’ll still have an opportunity to chat with vendors on the virtual expo floor, ask them questions about their products and services.

Live demonstrations showcasing various products and professional services suited for the modern roofer will also take place throughout the expo.  Videos will also be posted featuring the latest products available on the roofing market today.  

GAF is sponsoring the virtual silent auction which benefits the Davis Memorial Foundation Scholarship Program.  The 2020 goal is to award ten separate $5,000 scholarships for a total of $50,000.  Since 1997, when the Davis Memorial Foundation started, over 125 scholarships have been awarded, totaling more than $525,000.  Now more than ever, the Davis Memorial Foundation needs your support!  Virtual bidding starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 1 and will end at 5 p.m., Wednesday July 15.

More than 20 live and on-demand webinars will be available to attendees.  They will gain a better understanding on the proper installation of roofing systems, how to get women on the rooftop, maintaining OSHA compliance, avoiding costly legal mistakes and much more.  Our own Heidi J. Ellsworth, RCS partner, will be presenting with Alison LaValley from National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) about “Roofing, Labor Shortage and Embracing Diversity, Technology and the Next Generation.”

The VWRE will remain open for the remainder of the year, granting registrants access to the trade show and webinars until December 31, 2020.  This will allow participants to self-pace and visit every trade show booth and enjoy every webinar, which is normally impossible at the traditional WRE.
