GT1 XL Gutters Help Keep Installers Safe and Spend Less Time on the Roof!

In a recent episode of the Roofing Road Trips podcast, host Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Eric Younkin, vice president of products and engineered services at Metal-Era, an MTL Holdings company, to discuss the launch of the GT1 XL Gutter and how industry professionals can benefit from implementing more extra-large gutters in their projects.  

This gutter system was designed to not only offer a larger-sized solution, but to also make the installation process much easier and safer for installers. This innovative design minimizes the effort needed to install the gutter, withstands harsh weather and allows contractors to either install the z-bracket in the shop or on the roof before lowering the edge. By creating the product with these needs in mind, the GT1 XL Gutter is the way to go! 

Eric explained that this product has been a great success and useful for customers with big buildings that need these extra-large solutions, “We recently have done some work, and the feedback we've gotten from contractors has been absolutely phenomenal. Contractors are saying they're seeing up to 60% labor savings because we're able to eliminate external brackets from these larger gutters. We do that by a specific design where we're utilizing a lower mounting hanger and a gutter cleat to engage the gutter.” 

Being able to cut back on the time that contractors have to spend installing the system is a huge win. “What's really, really unique about this is we're able to minimize the amount of time the contractors are hanging over the edge of the roof by utilizing this lower mounting hanger and this gutter cleat to engage the gutter fast and tack it into place to hold it so, that way, we're not hanging over, putting in tons of fasteners and things like that,” Eric explained, “so it really helps with safety, but really what that does is we're less time on the roof or on the edge of the roof. We're speeding up the process.”
