Giving structure to software

Roofle Giving structure to software
September 29, 2024 at 6:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn how to navigate the world of roofing software and implement it in an effective and supportive way for your business.

Roofing software has grown incredibly popular, but they are only as powerful as the structures that surround them. In other words, it’s not necessarily the presence of technology that makes your operations more efficient, but the way your team implements that technology. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Karen Edwards sat down with Jon Gardner of Owens Corning and Travis Harvego, the founder and CEO of Roofle.

Travis, who was a contractor before he moved into the technology sector, explained how he and his team developed Roof Quote Pro to support contractor’s existing processes and systems, “With this, we give the contractor an embeddable widget that they install onto their website. They put their products in, they put their pricing in, which then allows the homeowner to then come to their website and then to be able to shop from the products that they offer for the prices that they're actually going to be doing the work for.” This is designed to adapt to what the contractor needs it to be. So, if they get most of their traffic online, it is a great way to make a more interactive and custom experience for a viewer. If they tend to go door-to-door meeting customers, they can pull up the tool while standing on the front step and offer a quote in 30-60 seconds. As Travis explained, “It's fully unlimited as far as how they use it. They can use it as much as they want to.”

And it’s their ability to take versatile tools like this and use them in their own work that leads to some contractors succeeding and selling more than others. But implementing tech can be a stressful and time-consuming process that can be a lot of trial and error. This is hard to incorporate in the business of day-to-day work in the roofing industry. That’s one of the reasons Roofle and Owens Corning are partnering up. Through this partnership, members of the Owens Corning Contractor Network can learn to use Roofle’s technology as effectively as possible. Jon explained, “We have a whole host of resources and tools to help our contractors scale, grow, and solve those problems. That's where I lean into, and so much of it is really focused on education and technology.”

Read the transcript or Listen to the full episode for more about this partnership and utilizing tech into your contracting business.
