Follow Up Leads to Better Reviews

Ashley & Seth Handling Reviews
June 4, 2021 at 7:34 a.m.

RCS Influencers Seth and Ashley Pietsch say receiving great reviews is about encouraging customers to reflect on their experiences working with Integrity Insurance.

Editor’s note: Learn what Seth and Ashley do at Integrity Insurance to generate positive reviews and handle negative ones. You can listen to the podcast below or read the transcript.

Megan Ellsworth: Hello there, my name is Megan Ellsworth back again here at RoofersCoffeeShop® for an influencer topic. This month's topic is how do you handle reviews, and today I'm chatting with Ashley and Seth Pietsch with Integrity Insurance out of Oregon. Hi, guys.

Ashley Pietsch: Hey. Thanks for having us, Megan.

Seth Pietsch: Thanks for having us.

Megan Ellsworth: Yeah, so glad to have you here. Well, let's get right down to the nitty-gritty. How do you guys handle reviews?

Ashley Pietsch: Here at Integrity, we have somebody that runs all of our social media here at the agency on Yelp, Google, Facebook, Instagram, all of the, LinkedIn. And when we work with a client and end up writing their business, she follows up about a week or two after and asks them how was the experience? How did it go? What did you like? What did you not like? What could we do better? She usually takes that information and shoots them an email with our social media links asking if they will leave a review. And once they do, we usually take that information and throughout the course of the year, kind of post that more to our social media so people can see what other people's experience was like.

You know, as soon as we get a review, we normally write that person individually and thank them for taking the time because I know with everybody's busy schedules it's not always easy to get people to leave reviews. So when they do, we really want to let them know that we're thankful for that.

Megan Ellsworth: That's fabulous. Do you find that it's kind of like pulling teeth getting people to leave reviews or is it super, you know people are really willing and wanting to do it?

Ashley Pietsch: Not really. We've actually had a lot of success.

Megan Ellsworth: Yay.

Ashley Pietsch: If [we reach] out a week or two later and people did have a good experience and they know we're growing business, people want to do that. And we usually end up taking their business in it as well and sharing that information. So we've had a lot of success asking for it and people are really willing to do it right now.

Megan Ellsworth: That's fabulous. It really goes to show that if you just ask, then people are wanting and willing and able to do it. It all just matters if you ask or not.

Ashley Pietsch: Absolutely.

Megan Ellsworth: Well, do you have any other last words of wisdom for contractors trying to get reviews?

Ashley Pietsch: Not really. I think just asking the question. Once you ask, people usually are really willing to do that. So I just I think there's a lot of, you know people do a lot of research on reviews before they make the decision to go with the particular person that they're looking into, and so when they see good reviews I think it's great. You know, if someone leaves a bad review, I think how you address it publicly also says a lot about you and your company. And I think once you ask, you'll be surprised at how many people really want to help you out.

Megan Ellsworth: Precisely. Well, thank you guys so much. That was brilliant and beautiful. I will be chatting with you next month.

Ashley Pietsch: Awesome. Thanks, Megan.

Seth Pietsch: Thank you.

Megan Ellsworth: Thank you.
