We are not currently using AI in our company, other than in our marketing department. Which is very minimal. Marketing uses it when gathering information, to help make research faster. However we have not used it for our day to day operations such as sales or production. There is probably some AI imbedded in software we use but I am unaware of the specifics, if so.
We tried an AI response tool on Facebook messenger and the tool was very glitchy, so we did not continue using it. Our after hours answering service started to use it recently but customers did not give good feedback, so we asked that they stop using it for now. Unfortunately after those two situations we just stopped looking into any AI tools. I think as time goes on we will look into other options with AI, but for the time being, we do not have plans to introduce any.
I think in general it's a great tool that has a wide use case. As every industry is becoming more demanding for faster results, I think AI plays a big role in automating some tasks that don't necessarily need a manual touch every step of the way. I know it will impact many industries and at some point I know we will most likely be using AI in all departments.
Like anything else I’m sure there will be a learning curve for the industry with AI, and tools will continue to evolve. I am interested to learn more about AI, but consider me old school because I still like human interaction. AI in general will be fascinating to watch evolve.
