SAGINAW, MICHIGAN — Duro-Last CEO Tom Saeli has been appointed president of The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress, a national collective of roofing and industry professionals who select and provide oversight of programs and funding for research that contributes to the ongoing advancement of the roofing industry. Tom has served as an Alliance trustee since 2014, and most recently as vice president. His new role as president will begin on June 1st and will last for a one year term.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve as president of The Roofing Alliance for Progress for the next year,” said Tom. “Over the past 20 years, the Alliance has invested millions of dollars into the roofing industry by supporting research, awarding scholarships and recognizing the hard-working people who make this a great industry to work in. The Alliance has similar core values as we do at Duro-Last, so the focus on giving back and looking for ways to improve to ultimately achieve excellence is something I am very passionate about.”
The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress was established in 1996 within the National Roofing Foundation to create an endowment fund to serve as a focused resource for the roofing industry and its customers. The objectives of the Alliance are to conduct research and educational projects that support high-quality programs for roofing contractors, ensure timely and forward-thinking industry responses to major economic and technological issues, and enhance the long-term viability and attractiveness of the industry to roofing workers. The group also reaches out to the roofing community and its members to help fund efforts dedicated to good works and charitable giving.
