DaVinci earns Kansas Business Award

The award recognizes the contributions to the Kansas economy of businesses from across the state.

DaVinci® Roofscapes, part of Westlake Royal Building Products™, was recently recognized by the Kansas Department of Commerce as the 2024 Statewide Award Winner for Manufacturing/Distribution in the Kansas Business Awards.

A record 346 businesses, organizations and individuals throughout Kansas were nominated in nine categories for this year’s To the Stars: Kansas Business Awards. Nominees were reviewed and scored for various criteria, such as business expansion, employee recruitment and retention practices, training and educational programs, capital investment and support of local community events.

Originally incorporated in Kansas in 1989, DaVinci started as a small, privately-owned company. Over the years it has moved to increasingly larger manufacturing locations within Kansas and has grown into the leader in the composite roofing industry.

Now part of Westlake Royal Building Products, DaVinci remains committed to the Kansas marketplace. From its manufacturing facilities in Lenexa, Kansas the business crafts Made in America shake and slate synthetic roofing products that are on homes and businesses throughout the world.

During the past 12 years the company has proudly reprocessed more than 12.2 million pounds of polymer scrap to support environmental efforts. In 2023, 666,378 pounds of preprocessed product was repalletized and used to make starter roofing tiles which are made of close to 100 percent recycled internal material. An additional 640,282 pounds of scrap were sold to outside sources for use in the construction of other items, like exterior landscaping products made by sister company Westlake Dimex.
