Congrats to Jeff Mitchell on winning the Pelican Cup from StealthBond®

By Karen L. Edwards, RCS Editor.

We really do give away a lot of great prizes here on the Coffee Shop and you could be the next winner!

It’s become a tradition for us here at the Coffee Shop to share a little bit about the winners of our many contests and promotions that we have on the site. We love meeting the members of our contractor community and sharing their stories!

This month I had the privilege to speak with Jeffrey Mitchel of Mitchell Roofing, Inc. headquartered in Burlington, NC and providing commercial and residential roofing services to the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. I began the conversation by asking the question I like to ask of everyone I talk to: ‘How did you get into the roofing industry?’

Jeff was born into this industry with his father founding Mitchell Roofing, Inc. in 1965. His dad put him to work early, starting on the ground, doing cleanup type work. He eventually began working on the roof around the age of 15 and he never looked back. He said he worked many weekends alongside his father when the regular crews wanted the time off. Jeff didn’t mind working the weekends because he wanted to make extra money.

Today the company has about two dozen employees and their focus is mostly on commercial roofing, although Jeff said that they do about 100 – 150 residential homes each year. Business has been pretty steady over the years and they typically average anywhere from $4 - $5 million per year in revenue.

We started talking about how he learned about the StealthBond® System and he found out about it through the Week-in-Review emails that recap the latest news and information from RoofersCoffeeShop.com. He does a lot of metal roof work and said, “I was very interested in learning more about the StealthBond® Roofing System because it doesn’t have any exposed fasteners. I submitted my form right away to get more information. I’m looking forward to learning more about it.”

I asked Jeff what he likes the most about working in roofing and his answer was one I’ve heard many times. “It’s rewarding work. You work on a roof and know that you are doing a good job for someone who needs it. It’s hard work but it’s naturally rewarding.”

Congrats to Jeff on staying on top of what’s new in the industry through the Coffee Shop and wanting to learn more about the innovative StealthBond® System.
