Are you always looking for new ways to expand your business or find the best products to offer your customers? In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth talks with Mike Vaughn from DaVinci Roofscapes and Landon Coggins from Apex Homes to see how adding composite roofing tiles to your offerings benefits everyone. They share tips for success, how to close the sale and you’ll learn about Apex Homes’ award-winning project of the year.
The industry has seen huge growth in composite roofing, which Mike contributes to several factors. He shares, “First off, it looks great. The aesthetics of it are second to none. But that’ not the only thing behind the magic here at DaVinci. I think it’s the durability and the performance we’re able to offer. It’s Class 4 hail resistant, Class A fire resistant, along with its wildlife urban interface certifications. And it’s low maintenance. Frankly, it’s going to be the last roof that you’re going to put on your house.”
Apex Home Solutions is based in Oregon City, Oregon, and they specialize in roofing, siding, windows and decks. Landon shares that DaVinci products are one of their primary products by a landslide right now. Particularly in the Northwest, Landon says it’s trending from an aesthetics standpoint because there are certain looks you can’t get with metal or composition that you can with composite. He explains, “Some of these markets, like at the coast, you could replace old cedar roofing and siding with DaVinci for similar money, or even less in some cases and you’re going to get a lot more lifecycle out of it. You won’t be replacing it.”
As Heidi points out, areas like Oregon, especially along the coast, can often see hurricane level wind speeds and heavy rain. But with DaVinci products, they know their customers are getting the performance to stand up against weather and the beauty they want for their home. Landon continues, “We have a project positioned south of Depoe Bay, Lincoln City area, in Whale Cove, and it’s right on the water. You’re probably 15 feet away from the water. We’re doing DaVinci hand split shake siding on that. We just ordered the product.”
It’s no wonder exterior companies can differentiate themselves by offering composite products. Read the transcript or Listen to the podcast to hear more about their recent projects and find out how to successfully upsell to a composite roofing system.
