Changing Lives Through Company Cause Marketing

RCS Influencer Charles Antis says that there is no better way to elevate your brand than through cause marketing.

Charles Antis: I'm excited right now to tell you the story about a guy named Nigel. Nigel was in the army and he was doing his first ever parachute jump in the army that day, scheduled to give blood later in the day. And on his trip down, as he jumped out of the airplane, his chute didn't open, and Nigel told me he knew he was going to die, but he said in that moment, he said, "Charles, I made a deal with God, that if he let me live, I promised that I would give blood for the rest of my life." And Nigel told me this story as he was about to give blood and he said, "Charles, God kept his part of the bargain, now, I'm keeping mine." And he's given blood for 30 years. Now, I'm telling you that story because I'm inside Antis Roofing, but I'm actually inside what we also call the blood haul. This is 6,000 square feet of space that we sterilize through the American Red Cross, and we've held 80 blood drives here, raising almost 7,000 lifesaving units of blood.

Why does that matter? It's because as a company, it's showing to everyone inside in our company what really matters. We call that cause marketing, and you need to do it. You need to do it, if you want to be understood in the world. You can't be in business today just to make money and just to have a profit and high five everybody on how you're doing. You have to show to everybody why it really matters. At Antis Roofing, we show that, we show with blood drives that we have right here, a roofing company. Though we also show it by donating all of the roofs for Habitat for Humanity for the last 10 years. The 97th and 98th roof we're plotting to put on right now. And volunteers, you, local community, employees, we're all going to put it on together. When you do this, you'll find that your stories stick around, they resonate with your people, and they resonate in the community, and there's no better name lift. There's no other brand lift. There's no better culture lift than you can have by putting cause into your brand.
