By Colin Sheehan, RCS Reporter.

This free virtual event features employee testimonials and is available for the month of October 2020.

Join metal roofing leading manufacturer ATAS International, Inc throughout October during their annual Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) celebration which began on the first Friday of October and is virtually available until October 31st. Participants can enjoy learning about career pathways, work experiences, educational routes as well as how to set and achieve personal goals. Visitors will also be able to see how ATAS metal roof and wall panel profiles are manufactured using the newest high-tech equipment, turret presses and roll formers.

Why MFG Day matters

MFG Day’s purpose is to show what a modern manufacturing career looks like. Thousands of companies and educational institutions are encouraged on this day to open the door to manufacturing for students, parents, teachers and community leaders. MFG Day seeks to bring people into the rewarding careers offered in manufacturing as well as to bring current manufacturers together to address shared challenges and create community-driven solutions that aid in the collective future of the industry.

The Manufacturing Institute, with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association as a founding partner, created MFG Day with the above initiatives in mind. Through skills training programs, the Institute drives the betterment of careers and the advancement of the manufacturing industry itself. Their commitment to diverse initiatives that support women in the workforce, veterans, students and all workers through varying skills training programs is why the manufacturing world continues to grow in numbers today. The Manufacturing Institute is the workforce development and education partner of the National Association of Manufacturers and acts as a trusted adviser to manufacturers, equipping them with the necessary resources to help solve the industry’s hardest challenges.

How to join

To participate in the event, visit the MFG Day homepage and simply enjoy the videos they have to offer. Any questions or feedback you may have can be sent to ATAS directly through submitting the form at the bottom of the page. You may also email Anne Hicks or call 610-395-8445.

The video series begins with a welcome from ATAS Executive Vice President, Jim Bus. Afterwards, President Dick Bus gives a tour of the main manufacturing facility located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Following these videos are the employee interviews from varying departments in ATAS who explain their roles in the business and how they found their way into ATAS.
