The world of roofing warranties is equally intricate and confusing as it is important. Luckily for contractors in the industry, MuleHide has created a powerful warranty portal that is making applying for and securing warranties simpler than ever. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth spoke to David Phillip and Joe Landmichl of MuleHide about this portal and how they incorporated transparency into it.
This portal was designed to address common pain points in the traditional warranty application process. Joe gave an example, saying, “We listen to the contractors, what are the issues that are happening? One that came up was that, if you’re a contractor, you log onto the site, you want to know, okay, what do I need to do? I just finished installing my project, but I have no idea what I got to do next.” Where traditional systems might leave contractors to figure that out on their own, MuleHide's warranty portal guides them. Joe explained, “We make it so simple. When you first log onto that page, we have a subset of categories that you're going to see, needing inspection, needing completion date.” This makes the complex warranty process easier for everyone, whether they are new contractors or seasoned veterans.
In addition to making the next steps clear, MuleHide's platform utilizes integrations to keep everything in one place. This makes it easier to manage your application and keep track of what’s going on. David gave an example of this, sharing, “If you need to pay an invoice, you click the button, it takes you to a hot link to PayPal, which is our vehicle to pay for warranties. Then you type in card information or use an existing PayPal account, check out and within 30-45 seconds, the transaction's complete!”
Overall, what MuleHide has done to the warranty process makes it easier to manage by making it more transparent. Joe explained, “One of the big things we heard from our contractors, which was a pain point, was where is my application? And that's the biggest pain point that we have now gotten rid of where you are now able to see where it is and what’s next. We are being so transparent with this new system it is mind-blowing.” And this new level of transparency is already making waves in the industry. Daniel shared, "Everybody is very, very happy because it's just simpler. We've taken one of the biggest pain points for a contractor walking through this process and we've taken away so many of the pain points and all of the feedback that we've gotten has been positive.”
