Every month, The Coffee Shops reach out to those in our influencer program to get their perspective on a variety of timely topics for the roofing industry. The individuals that make up our influencer program are experts across many areas of the industry. Their diverse opinions, tips and advice mean that each month's topic gets thoroughly examined from every direction. We are honored to work with these authorities and professionals to help them share their knowledge and experience. For July, the topic was bilingual training. So, we asked the influencers, "What are you doing for bilingual training? What do you suggest should be done?"
One of the responses we got came from Steve Little, who is the president of KPost Roofing and Waterproofing. He was one of the founding members of the company in 2003, along with Keith Post and Jayne Williams. He has played a huge role in the industry on a whole, serving on multiple boards and associations, along with founding the National Roofing Partners (NRP) in 2005. NRP is a nation-wide partnership of professional roofing contractors providing facilities performance services, and now he now serves as their CEO.
This is what he had to share about bilingual training in his experience:
"As part of our Cordley employee education programs, KPost provides English to Spanish and Spanish to English classes for our employees. We provide these and 10 and 30 hour OSHA Certification as part of our KPost University curriculum. We also work with Ricardo Gonzalas at bilingual America to bring Latino culture to our non-Latino managers and American culture to our Latino managers. We feel both these programs work well and creating a cohesive and collaborative team."
