March 4, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

The new FBC (HVHZ) compatible Attic Breeze model is set to redefine roofing ventilation for high-risk hurricane areas.

Attic Breeze is excited to announce the Florida Building Code (FBC) approval of its energy-efficient, durable solar-powered attic fan and ventilation solution for use in High-velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ) in Florida. Designed to meet the industry’s rigorous standards, the new product approval further demonstrates durability while providing superior performance in demanding environments.

The Attic Breeze Gen 3 fans already held FBC Approval (FBC Numbers: FL13339.1, FL13339.2, FL3339.3, FL13339.4) and are already renowned for their reliability in standard roofing systems. Under FBC Number: FL47212.1, this fan now joins Cardinal FBC Number: FL31962.1. The new FBC (HVHZ) compatible model (Attic Breeze FBC Number: FL47212.1) is set to redefine roofing ventilation for high-risk hurricane areas.

This system has been designed to meet the maximum ASD design wind pressures of +/- 125 psf. For installations in the HVHZ (Broward and Miami-Dade Counties), this system has been tested and passed for wind-driven rain resistance per TAS-100(A).

This product been submitted to the Florida Building Commission (FBC) for formal approval and has gained certification following the February board meeting. Engineering documents for these products are available for download at no cost from the FBC website: https://floridabuilding.org

“With the ever-changing landscape in the roofing industry it is important to Attic Breeze to make sure we build the industry’s best products. With the vigorous testing for the FBC approval, it is a testimony to our R&D team to make the best products that withstand the toughest elements,” said Chad Paris, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
