Rose Smith is a former U.S. Army Veteran who currently lives in Pico Rivera, California. When she was in dire need of a new roof, Habitat for Humanity of LA and Owens Corning came to the rescue.
Owens Corning™ Roofing’s new program pairs them with Habitat For Humanity to match contractors with military families around the country, aiming to deliver and install free, new roofs as tokens of appreciation for their service.
“We’re excited to kick off the Roof Deployment Project and give back to the military members and families who give so much to our country,” contractor network leader to Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt Bill Mabry, said in this announcement. “This program provides Owens Corning and its network of independent Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractors with a way to help make these military families’ lives a little less stressful.”
Since the “Roof Deployment Project” has started, they have installed over 250 roofs for military members, strengthening the morale and well-being of service members.
Once more the project accomplished its goal of improving veterans lives one roof at a time, delivering a new roof to Rose Smith right before rainstorms were predicted to hit Southern California. Owens Corning supplied the materials for Rose’s roof and La Rocque Better Roofs donated the time and labor to install the roof.
"The roof came out great, they did an outstanding job. They had different crews last week, and every crew that came out they were amazing and did a wonderful job, and I'm so pleased and thankful," Rose told ABC 7.
