Joe Reese with Gateway Environmental Roofing Solutions recently installed an American WeatherStar Met-A-Gard System on an R panel metal roof in Chesterfield, Missouri. AWS President Brian O’Donnell had the opportunity to visit with Joe and his crew during the project. “It was obvious that Gateway had a great deal of experience installing fluid applied systems,” O’Donnell stated. “His crew was professional, efficient, and kept a clean job site.”
A video and photos of the installation demonstrate the appearance of the Met-A-Gard roof coating system. They show the seams and fasteners being sealed with American WeatherStar Butter Grade 221 before installing the Acrylic 211 base and top coat. For this particular project, the roof did not require priming beforehand. If there was rust, or the roof had previously been coated, a primer coat of Rust Prime 912 would have been the first step.
Trend Manufacturing will receive a minimum ten-year service life out of the new fluid applied system. Not only will the system be waterproof, it will also cut the roof temperature by 40-60°F during the hot summer months.
