With the advent of social media, online commerce and AI tools, we do not interact with each other or the larger world the same as we did a month ago, let alone twenty years ago. While all of this change can be overwhelming, there are powerful tools emerging from it. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth spoke to Travis Harvego and Jon Gardner from ROOFLE and Owens Corning respectively about adapting roofing into the Amazon age.
The duo highlighted the collaboration between their two companies to make ROOFLE and Roof Quote PRO™ easily available, allowing homeowners to use ROOFLE’s incredible software to get instant quotes and connect directly to Owens Corning contractors. Travis explained how this works, “Contractors can take the software that we built and install it on their website, which now allows that homeowner to go through that instant experience.” Through this software, contractor’s websites become one-stop shops for homeowners to get their pricing information and see all the product options.
Travis shared some of the inspiration behind this product, saying, "If you look at Amazon, they came over and took over market share from the Best Buys, the Targets. There was this big giant that came into the space and took over the eCommerce space. This industry [roofing] could've gone down that same path.” This is something that was incredibly stressful for contractors in the field. Travis explained why, sharing, “Instead of selling you leads, these big sites would sell you sold jobs. This means the value of what you built as a contractor, whether it be 10 generations or everything that you've built within you being a contractor, doesn’t matter because all you're doing now is installing jobs.” The goal with Roof Quote PRO is to avoid this future and keep the power with the contractors.
Contractors can embed the Roof Quote PRO software into their websites that allows for better customer lead generation and sales. It does this by giving customers the experience they want, that can typically only come from the big giants. Jon explained, “When I'm going on Amazon or I'm going on a website, I can't wait to find out what it is that I'm actually going to buy. I'm intrigued. I'm looking. I'm researching...
