A Year for the Record Books

Stormseal Year for the Books
February 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

By Colin Sheehan, RCS Reporter.

2020 will not be soon forgotten. Join Stormseal in reflecting on some of last year's key moments.

For many people and businesses all over the world, 2020 hit as hard as a hurricane. Fortunately, the roofing industry didn't slow down since roofs continue to be damaged by weather and need routine maintenance and repairs over time.

Before Stormseal closed the book on 2020 completely, they wanted to review what this historic year brought to their company.

  • February: At the 2020 IRE, Stormseal certified installers were able to celebrate their company and sign up new certified installers. Stormseal is looking forward to the next IRE where they can visit in person.

  • March: Stormseal was ranked number five on a list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2020 by Fast Company.

  • May: Stormseal spent this month preparing installers before the start of hurricane season.

  • June: This month was filled with contractors marketing their business with a custom Stormseal brand.

  • July: Stormseal expanded their network and become part of the Contractor Connection team of solution providers.

  • August: The 2020 Storm season grew intense, causing Stormseal installers to ramp up production in order to meet the demand of damaged houses needing Stormseal protection.

  • September: Stormseal installers were on hand in Lake Charles, Louisiana protecting homes and buildings following Hurricane Laura. One of the buildings they worked on was the airport control tower.

  • October: Hurricane Delta soon followed in nearly the same location in the U.S. as Hurricane Sally. Additionally, Hurricane Zeta was not far from its landing. In 2020 Stormseal saw 30 tropical storms from the Atlantic, setting a new record.

  • November: Stormseal installers went to Florida to help a condo community withstand the relentless rains of Hurricane Eta.

  • December: As the record-breaking storm season came to an end, Stormseal began to focus on training more Stormseal certified contractors for 2021.

About Stormseal:

Stormseal is a polyethylene film that is used to temporarily protect a damaged roof or structure. It heat-shrinks to securely wrap around the damage and, unlike tarps, can stay in put until permanent repairs can be made. It is wind, rain and hail resistant and works to prevent further distress and costly damage.

Stormseal is an award-winning innovation and since its inception has protected more than 9,000 buildings globally. Stormseal helps businesses and communities recover faster after disastrous weather.
