Ryan Groth, the founder of the Sales Transformation Group, offers a boot camp for contractors. The purpose is to help contractors determine their sales process problems and find solutions to them. Ryan holds these boot camps all around the country. What he enjoys about hosting in different locations is that his clients in that area can “come together, bring a couple of sales guys, and really connect and meet one another.” His most recent boot camp took him to Denver, Colorado.
Day one focuses on identifying the problem. Ryan states, “…we go through all the areas of your life that are holding you back from being greater at sales. We identify those, we break them down, we polarize them, really put them to bed, so we can create more space to grow and be successful in that and what you’re doing in sales.”
Day two of the boot camp took them to the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Their mile and a half hike allowed them to get moving, sweat a little, and connect. Ryan recounts, “Everyone was just kind of hanging out together, sharing about their business, thinking about what day one was like, and really just kind of connecting and hearing from one another, and that was great.”
They really got their blood flowing with a sprint at the end of their hike. After a break, they divided into groups and “...dove into the sales process as a group,” according to Ryan. Everyone had a chance to be active, get equipped, and get out of their comfort zones by putting everything they learned into action.
From there, they began role-playing with another person. This provides them with an opportunity to practice the concepts in a dynamic and fun way as a team and as a group. Ryan explained, “I was able to step in and be the coach, and then help coach that salesperson, and then demonstrate myself.” This allowed everyone the opportunity to observe, replay situations in their head, and provide feedback, which, as Ryan reveals, “...is so powerful and so helpful, but just takes practice…”
Paul Regalado with the Roof & Gutter Guys urges others to attend Ryan’s boot camp. He states, “I’ve done a lot of sales training, with a lot of different people, with a lot of different methodologies, and I think Ryan has the ability to bring all that together, and give it to a contractor to use within their system. So, if you get a chance, come out and visit Ryan.”
Running and being a part of the boot camps are enjoyable and rewarding for Ryan. He expresses, “...there’s just so much value, and I always leave inspired every time to work with folks and help them grow their sales.” With opportunities to meet other contractors and salespeople in the area, get one-on-one coaching, and practice strategies with others, this boot camp is an intensive learning opportunity. And it gets you out of the office and engaging with others.
