Johns Manville Announces New LVOC Membrane Adhesive for TPO & EPDM

The new LVOC membrane adhesive replaces previous adhesives beginning January 1, 2017.

As part of its program to upgrade the entire single ply adhesive portfolio, JM is proud to announce the new JM LVOC membrane adhesive.

The JM LVOC Membrane Adhesive (TPO & EPDM) will immediately replace the JM TPO Low VOC Membrane Adhesive (7004357) and will replace the JM EPDM Membrane Adhesive (Low VOC) (70000626) on Jan 1.

The LVOC adhesive is the same price as the previous solution and features improved wind uplift and fire ratings. It is approved for use on both TPO and EPDM membranes. Contractors will appreciate the reduction in flash times and that the product is easier to handle - especially at lower temperatures. The adhesive also features improved spreadability and increased shelf stability.

The product is used for adhering JM membranes to approved substrates. It is a one-part, low VOC synthetic polymer-based membrane adhesive that is compatible with approved insulations, cover boards, wood substrates, concrete and lightweight concrete decks.

Like the JM TPO Water Based Membrane Adhesive, the JM LVOC Membrane Adhesive (TPO & EPDM) is a joint development, leveraging JM and partner’s chemical expertise with a customer requirements and field testing protocol.  JM thanks its installer partners for their help in making this a truly improved offering.  They are excited to get this new adhesive in contractors’ hands and is looking forward to feedback.
