Barr Roofing's Jim Barr Elected Chairman of the Board of the National Roofing Contractors Association

Barr will begin his one-year term as the highest-ranking officer of one of the oldest construction trade associations in the U.S. June 1, 2017.

Jim Barr, president of Barr Roofing Co., Abilene, Texas, has been elected the next chairman of the board of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). Barr will serve for the 2017-18 fiscal year. He was elected during NRCA's 130th Annual Convention held March 1-3 in Las Vegas. "Jim came into a family business and led it through a time of significant growth. He also has experience with all types of roofing and brings not only roofing knowledge but also in-depth technical expertise to his role as NRCA's chairman of the board," says Reid Ribble, NRCA's CEO. "His combination of people skills and ability to get things done with a positive attitude will make him a great leader for NRCA." Barr previously served as NRCA's chairman of the board-elect from 2016-17 and NRCA vice chairman from 2012-14 and 2015-16; he also was a member of NRCA's board of directors from 2009-12 and 2014-15. Barr previously served as a vice chairman liaison to the Alliance Board of Trustees and the Affiliate Relations, Community Relations and Disaster Relief, Contractor Management, Membership Marketing, Roof Integrated Solar Energy, Young Contractors and NRCA Retirement Program committees. In addition, Barr has served as a director for the National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) and as a member of the Manual Update and Technical Operations committees. Barr will begin his one-year term as the highest-ranking officer of one of the oldest construction trade associations in the U.S. June 1, 2017.
