I'm working on a new video dealing with ice damming and soffit ventilation. On this job we were installing 5x11 perforated brass sheet metal screens every other rafter.

Check out the video and let me know how it looks. Load time for your computer? Does it make sense?? I would appreciate any criticism, good or bad.

Thanks

As a matter of fact, that roof had ridge vent.

I will have to work on adding audio.

I also assumed that there was no other ventilation..

Loaded quickly and looked good. More ppl will watch if you add audio!

I saw where the air was exiting. I was of the impression there were NO other vents in the attic. So, I let that slide. I felt it was meant to show how much hot air was trying to escape.

OLE Willie

It looked ok but having to read long paragraps was annoying. I spent half or more of the time looking at the words rather than the video itself. It would be much better with audio. Loaded really quick so that was great. Also, I'm with the others, If the air is exiting the soffit vents something is not right. Is there proper exhaust on the roof or at the gable ends of the walls of the house? Ridge vent? Power fans? Wind turbines? Attic fan?

Didn't anybody else see that??? no comment. I see people are reading the post but not offering an opinion

How come the vents are working backwards? Air is supposed to go in the soffit vents and exit out at the ridge vent. That's the law of nature. Hot air rises. Is there a whole house fan pushing the air down to the soffit?
