ive done alot of torch down but my first time ive used siplast. guys on the crew said that on a new metal curb you have to mastic on base sheet then put another layer of mastic on said base sheet after that put masitc on what i would call a cap sheet then put it on curb. then using a single ply heat gun weld the seems. the only time they torch down anything was as a footing at the base of the curb. what ive said may sound strange and ive never seen this done i have the feeling somthing was done wrong i looked up siplast web site but very little on specs on this. im at a loss anybody have any input on this?? http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs/users/karltbraun/

Although I must admit that due to some unfortunately politicing and a spineless decision, I lost my Siplast license earlier this year.......... but using 15 gallons of cement/adhesive on a 5x5 curb is not even comprehensible.

You did see it, right? Or just hear about it. I could see 3 "pails" of ParaPro, their PMMA liquid flashing system, cuz those are little pails. Could it be that's what was used? Did they lay a polyester mat in the "mastic"?

i found out that the mastic system they use on these curbs is because you are not allowed to use fire on curbs or walls when working on a school. i guess u learn something new every day http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs/users/karltbraun/

the curb was primed and no big fire risk. 1 5x5x2.5 curb they used 3 buckets of mastic thats more than id use in a year. im going to call the manufacter i cant accept this as being the correct way. btw im at a new shop and this was the first time i did torch work with them needless to say the next torch job i wont be bringing my equipment. http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs/users/karltbraun/

That may have more to do with torching limits than the material itself, but Siplast is very heat sensitive. If you've never torched an SBS before, you'll likely do some damage. I'd recommend practicing a little first.

What you described sounds like a Derbigum in Permastic/Perflash spec.
