Short cut on valleys

They haven't called me to fix it; I know that is a fact. If they can run the shingles like that, (vertical) on the valley side, why not run them up and down on the rest of the roof?

I saw it one day and had to stop and take a picture or two.

they ran the roof to follow the paper. I've actually seen this quite often.and it's usually in areas that have no municipality type inspections.
