Hey guys has anybody downloaded the Pitch Gauge app that I made on for the iPhone? I was wondering what you guys thought about it. I'm been in the roofing business for about 3 years.. I thought it would be pretty cool if we had an app for us... it has a camera view so you can get your pitch from the ground. I know.. I know.. There are already tools that can do this... but this is an app. Please would love to hear some feedback.. thanks guys for the support... Just go to iTunes and look for "Pitch Gauge" or click below to see it... Abraham
AWESOME!!.. Thanks a lot.. You guys have been great.. So far our downloads have been very impressive.. I have just completed the website it.. You can read on the app and see screenshots.. please check it out...

Also... Here is a GREAT idea that people have been doing... free advertising..
1. Download the app. 2. Go back to the AppStore and write a review. 3. On "Title" instead of using your name or anything else... Write your website address or business name... 4. Write a good review. ;) 5. That's it.. Everybody that downloads the app will see your review with your company name on it...
Look for yourself on.. signatureroofingusa.com and a few others have done it..

Hi citopr ,thanks for developing that app works creat i used it last friday. good job budd B)
Thank you jimAKAblu. That is awesome. I really much appreciate it. I pray you sell a gazillion roofs.. :) really thanks.. I also have tried the GeoEstimator Pitch Gauge app.. Didn't like it that much so that's why I decided to make a better one for us to use.. and I made it free because it's nifty and we shouldn't have to pay for it.... It's just a pitch gauge... not some crazy game.. or some weird app that make you fat... lol...
tico Said:Old School Said: Glad you are thinking. I just look at the roof and dont worry about the pitch. I have done it enough I just about know by now.the old fashioned way.like that.thats the same one I use,its called experience. yes Jim,thats sanctamonius isnt it?
I wouldn't call that comment sanctimonious. There's a lot of sanctimonious chat in here, but that wouldn't qualify.
But, it is a good piece of bragging. So, now that we are on the bragging binge, here's mine.
I once challenged a framer about using a speedsquare for marking square cuts on 2/4s and 2x6s. He said that he likes to do quality work. I explained that if you made a few attempts at cutting the piece square, by eye without marking a square line, that he'd be able to cut square. I explained that "...in fact, since I've cut enough rafters, I don't even need a mark to cut the plumb cut on rafters".
Of course, he was incredulous and challenged me. I asked him what pitch he wanted. He said a "9". I was thinking..."bad call there bud...we just finished that roof last week". I picked up a 2x6, made a 9 cut, by eye, and handed it to him to check it. You guessed it...it was a perfect 9/12.
So, lets just say, I can call out the pitches from the road too by eye and I don't think it's any great feat. I do know that sometimes I guess wrong and I like to verify the pitches with a tool, when they are close to some of the key slopes, i.e., when they will change the rate paid to the vendor. I also am interested in trying out different tools that my sales team can use. I've got inexperienced "trainees" selling and they need all the help they can get.
I do like his app much better than the GEO Estimator. I wan't sure how to use that calibrater and it was acting up but I think it's fixed now. I did send an email around to the other sales guys to try it out.
Thanks for trying out my app. Very very much appreciated. I will be releasing update/s as people give me feedback. If there are any features that you guys would like for me to add let me know. I work for you guys and I hope to make my app the best iPhone Pitch Gauge out there. I can't do it alone. Please feel free to give me advice. Thanks..
Even though I already had a pitch guage app from Geo Estimator, I tried yours out last week.
I was anticipating better results because the font was so large. I felt like it would be much easier to read.
Unfortunately, I couldn't trust the results. The app gave me a reading but then changed when I tried it again. Then it erred or something. After a few futile attempts to get another reading, I shut it off and went back to Geo Estimator.
I wasn't getting satisfactory readings from my Geoestimator either..it kept fluctuating.
Your app seem to be working good right now. It might have been something with the phone. I did have to reboot it twice last week. Could it be the new app?
I do like the visibility of the tool much better than GeoEstimator.
