Decra ShakeXD panel. It's a pretty neat system. A good time was had by all. Took five days, high of 95 the 2nd/3rd day, high of 62 the last.
You can use the H&R over the sides as well like you would with tile, but they didn't want to go that far.
It's 120mph wind rating and I would be surprised if that would do it.
That is a pretty panel, but even if they didn't clog, my disdain for all things "J-channel" would ruin it for me. If it were my houseI might be able to live with the valley J's, but that rake trim is something I would never get over.
Does the product have any wind uplift resistance without covering the sides, or is it like the immitation cedar shake vinyl siding products that have to be protected from wind getting behind the panel?
Could you use something like an AZEK board to cover corners? I've done that on my house to do all but the trickiest of protected inside-corners.

We used to remove old aluminum shake roofs in Houston with j channel valleys and rework them, debris get through ants make big nest's in the valleys' channel valleys are temporary.
OS: Decra also has a version that is installed on battens. I assume that's what you mean.
That's a good point Robert, do you think the debris guard will help this?
I've told them to give me a call in five years for a good channel cleanout.
Very nice looking product, but j channel valleys last about 15 years before they clog up and start diverting the water. And that's if there's no trees nearby I would invest in a 4 foot brake and do open valleys if your going to be installing more.
Thanks guys. It relieved a *slight* amount of my envy for all the slate roofs showcased on this forum.
What I found most amazing is that we could work that steep pitch, 11 or 12/12.
That is a nice looking panel. Definitely fits the house.
:) Nice.
Nice job Clover.
Just the panels were $260/sq. How does that compare?
