I have been in Colorado all my life. Selling roofing is all I have done (since 1994). Have any of salespeople that are independents been asked to attain insurance in order to sell? I guess I don't know the purpose if you are not actually installing anything. A guy had me and 2 other guys do work all year, stringing us along since May. Not paying us one time (luckily have been working for others), then say, ohh I can't pay you because you don't have GL.
Please let us know what experiences you guys may have had!! I just want to resolve this and move on.
Thanks a lot!
Darin
I am not an independent salesman and I do not know any. I do have a low tolerance for people making money and then being manipulative, cheap, and deviant. I would assume he is just screwing you. He should at the very least be willing to pay you the amount he owes you subtracting the amount he will owe his general liability. If you don't have a contract things are likely to get ugly.
