The article below was written by Stanislav Mishin, a blogger and columnist for the Russian newspaper Pravda.

American capitalism gone with a whimper . . . . .

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us (Russia) about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blinds the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox (Russian Orthodox) churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happ

I think these comments can be said about almost all politicians in recent (and not so recent years) and from what I can see nobody really knows what any of these late events are going to ultimately yield, no matter how much trajectory charting is done, or how intelligently. I'm not casting aspersions on the discussion, mind you, but I wouldn't single out Obama any more than I did Bush. Our job is to push back wherever and whenever we feel the need and never to expect a single person or a single posture to yield the kind of system we want. The ideal system we think we are looking back on was always a struggle, never existed purely, and can never be reconstructed permanently.>>>

The man (Obama) thinks that our Constitution and laws crafted around it are what's wrong with America........ if you ask me.>>>

Lanny,

I would add one thing to Obamanomics............ take from those that failed, steal from those that had no control over the situation, then give it to the unions as a reward for campaign donations. That is exactly what's happening to the auto industry.>>>

No need to apologize to me, Jed. Throw a few more hairs across your ass and carry on, you're doing quite well if you ask me. :)>>>

Mike I love America . I also know and except we didn't do it alone . I favor a middle ground with careful analysis and thoughtful consideration in which most peoples views are included. The funny truth about Obama ( I don't agree with a lot of what he is doing ) is that he would be right in the middle of the political spectrum in Europe . Peter I understand Europe also has many positive attributes to learn from. Europe also has a great history of social experiment. Remember the Magna Carta in 1215? The first British Parliament started in 1707. The French revolution? Our friends the French went bankrupt helping the Americans defeat the British. A fact which is often forgotten when Americans put down the French. The Italians have brought so much culture into our lives with the greatest cultural Renaissance in History. The Greeks were dealing with democratic concepts more that 2,000 years ago. Here in the USA we are in this great melting pot of so many cultures and points of view. The tolerance and love we have for all peoples, cultures and ideas; that is the greatness of the USA. That is the gift that we need to give back to the rest of the world. IMO>>>

Hi,

It appears the Russian Bloger would prefer to see an extended period in office of GWB ?

The man who openly introduced methods of Americans spying on each other for no real reason other than one act of terrorism from a small group.

Homeland Security appears to have taken away so many of the true freedoms that America stood for without a whimper from the people.

News Programs are now just that, heavily edited programs instead of reporting the real news in a timely manner, such is the delay and editing that American news is seen in greater detail in Europe before it is shown in edited form in the USA.

Promoting a war that could never be justified was made to appear justified by using television programs designed for entertainment but with an undertone that would have made the Goering proud.

A man who quotes Putin as if he were some form of social genius instead of the dictator he is should certainly be taken seriously, if Blair (who has been out office a long time now) and Obama were to listen to his kind then the world would be in serious trouble !

Never fear, it is true, that the only thing that we have to fear is fear itself. The American free enterprise system will survive because there are enough millions of Americans with the entrepreneurial spirit to carry on against the odds. This is a truism and will continue to work itself out as for what other reason do millions of other entrepreneurial prospects wish to legally immigrate to this nation and make a go of it in business. Even though the socialism from both Repuglicans and Demoncrats has been going on for well over the last seventy years we are still here doing our job as free enterprising people. For an example of pure socialism in health care-just look at the mess called the Veterans Hospitals and health care system of medicine for our esteemed vets.>>>

I'm not sure how to respond to that. There's not much talk about world events on this site, and I'm certainly not not, nor have I ever been, an isolationist. I am America first, for sure. But as a guy with a lot of Ukrainian (former Ruskie Commie strangled nation, still led by a Commie KGB throwback) I have a lot of interest in Eastern Europe and the north Middle East. I'm also a fan of Isreal and take a great deal of interest in US/Isreali relations.........................................

But I fail to understand in any way how an article written by a fairly well know Russian blogger that rings a lot of truth in my mind sheds any kind of light on my interest, or lack thereof, of world events, when the article is about the current take-over of our constitution by the executive arm of our government.

Some of you guys should not be quite so quick to throw stones at a guy that comes from where Obama seems to want to take us. He's eaten the grass on the other side, as have many of my Ukrainian reletives.

The system works like this: Those at the top of the oligarchy raise chickens, eat eggs, and roast fresh fowl. Then they distribute chicken shit to the masses and say "Here, spread this free fertilizer on your crops. Keep warm, eat well, and don't forget, we take 1/2 of what the field produces, cuz we gave you free chicken shit.">>>

Jed,

I don't understand "why the sudden interest"? You'd have to explain the assumptions behind the statement before I could comment on the rest of the question.>>>

Our capitalistic society is far from perfect. But it is the best one on earth. I do think we should change the armed forces job from fighting ( and leave that to unmanned drones) and have the armed forces rush into places after a sunami or hurricane or any natural disaster with food aid and medical help, etc. Instead of being the worlds enforcer, we should be the worlds doctor, nurse, rescue team!>>>

I can't take this article seriously. How quick to lay judgment. Did we forget Bush bailed out the Auto industry which I did not agree with? He gave 900 billion to bail out banks etc which I also did not agree with (and most of congress went along with it). Bush also got us involved with a three trillion dollar war, which I did not agree with. We had no business in Iraq. Bush alienated the world from the USA with school yard bully foreign policy. All said and done he was a serious failure and embarrassment. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. A lot of the blame for the follies of this country can be attributed to both liberals and conservatives. My opportunistic side screams at me when I have these liberal views . Is it hypocritical to buy war money for investment and cry foul ? I don't think so . While most of the world starves and lives in extreme poverty we complain and argue about petty grievances, about who is right and who is wrong. We are mostly blowing smoke, and in the big picture it is a waste of time and energy. Instead we should thank the universe for all the kindness, grace and good fortune it has bestowed upon us. How lucky we are to have such blessed lives, to have housing, food and medicine. How can we share some of the this good fortune with others? My softer more liberal side

Every coin has two sides. If we are going to talk to each we need to respect of each others views. Without that there is no dialog. It is just a monologue; preaching to the choir or falling on deaf ears.>>>

Hi, I am new here, this seems foolish coming from someone in Russia. How can they claim to know anything about freedom. You dont have to think too far back to remember Communism and their country's obvious imperialism as far into Europe as they could get. This Russian guy is an idiot with lots of useless words in his head. Yea they told the GM CEO to step down, but they asked us for how many billions of dollars?? Come on. America aint perfect by any means, at least we are slowing down on the war mongering and imperialism for now..

Oh yea, my name is Eric. A new poster and roofer that does mostly old house restorations and traditional types of roofing in the northeast.>>>
