Hey, I have a new affiliation with eLocalRoofers.com. They have a different approach to providing leads for contractors and I really want you take advantage of it.

I found them because they are always coming up #1 organically in Google in my searches so I called them. I needed someway to offer leads and web opportunities to offer you guys and I saw they did webpages for roofers which is also something I wanted to offer you. I called and made a deal with them, I am using their consumer resources (In case consumers get on our site) and they are using my roofing resources.

Here is the deal. They have a directory of contractors that you may or may not be on, if you are on you can update// it with your contact info and website. You get the listing in YOUR zipcode for free.

If you want to purchase listing in the other surrounding zipcodes you can have a listing for $2.50 a month per zip code and they will do an ad for you. No contracts. If you want the top spot exclusively with a fancier ad it's $10.00 a month per zip code.

If you are a paid advertiser you get the leads from the consumers for FREE. You don't pay like Service Magic. This is a terrific deal - I am NOT giving you a sales pitch.

This company just opened it up to roofing, so they have lots of room. They have been doing plumbing and electrical so you can go check out their elocalplumbers.com to see what I have been talking about.

These guys are working on being the biggest resource for contractor online yellow pages. Sure beats what you pay for the regular yellow pages and when they are extinct then where will you be. At least go on and update/ your free listing!

http://www.elocalroofers.com/information#Advertising

They will give you a discount if you mention us and they will also build you a really inexpensive website if you don't have one.

Go - Do - Prosper!

Unless I'm forced to change my prices in Dec, a domain is $7.49 a year. Paid hosting is about $3.99 a month. Cheaper by the year. Multipe years cost less. Never reg the domain you want/need for less than 10 years. You aren't closing your door at the end of the year's use, are you?

I'm sure a site can be built without costing an arm or a leg. Main thing is to get the domain(s) bought. Here's the skinny, (in short). Don't run the check until you're ready to buy the domains. Free hosting comes with each name. You only need or want paid hosting for one of the names. Not all of them. My site reached PR3 with the free hosting and a GD ad on top. And I got leads then too.

DO NOT POST THE NAMES YOU ARE LOOOKING FOR ONLINE ANYWHERE!!!!!!!

Domainers search for posts like this and reg the names to resell to endusers every minute of the day!

Put the names on notepad. Leave OFF the .com, .net extensions. Go to your registrar when you want to buy. Look around for register domains, and find the drop down menu and select "Bulk Register", or something similar. C &P your list there and select your extension, then enter any code needed. Register ALL that are available! There is usually a discount offered too. Use the shortest one for your site and 301 all the others for SEO purposes. Examples: Type in A1roofer.com and/or slateroofspecialist.com to see what I mean by type in traffic and SEO.

Give me a call at 804-833-6418 and I will explain in more detail today. Not a sales pitch, just free advice.

E-mail for discount codes.

Vickie...thanks for all you do. I didnt mean to sound so daggone rude. I appreciate your response.

Frank, I may have done messed up then....I searched a bunch of domains on your domain site. Can others see that? I will try getting with you soon. I have been putting this off just because I don't know where to begin and I just don't have enough faith in the internet generating me sales to spend $100 a month.

In general....ballpark figure, what does it cost to get a domain and have a host and email per year?

I don't understand 301'ing and SEO's.

I signed up with E Local thinking if I get a lead or 2 from the free ad, then I could upgrade.....but I am old school and would like to see it to believe it.

Thanks everyone.

And I believe I speak the truth when I say that all posters here with links and other 'helps' really do appreciate what you're doing for us 'low-life redneck, baccer chewing/spitting jailbird ruffers' to put us in a different light. My hat is off to you, AND Steve too. :)

Yes I do Vickie. But, with the cancer battle going on 3 years or more, I haven't restocked the store. All I have now is out of date. Hopefully next weeks surgery will be the last for the wife. We'll see. It's been a drain on all resources. Thanks for the pat on the back. I try to help, and I seem to be on speed dial with several posters from here and elsewhere.

You have been a valued contributor to the site. I want to help you in your business because you are helping us in ours. You are a roofer but with you expertise in this you are helping other roofers too. That's the kind of free promotion I am honored to provide. Don't you sell hot sauce too?

Keep up the good work.

Randy, listen to Vickie. As for me, I'm not going to promote my sales site, but if you call I can try to explain some of the site building, seo, and listing BS. My number is on the roofing sites. All of them.

Getting a good ranking takes a few months for it to be solid. Every day wasted is gone. AND DON'T GOOGLE ANY NAMES YOU'RE INTERESTD IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Randy:

Unfortunately the company that was posting here is not an advertiser yet so until that time his posting about his company is not fair to those companies that pay.

His reference to him being a paying advertiser was him placing a classified ad about his company - also not allowed. The classified ads are for roofing contractors to provide low cost advertising to them. If you make money off of a roofing contractor AS your business you pay for display advertising. Advertising is our SOLE source of income to produce the Roofers Exchange and keep the RCS on the web.

I have never in the entire history of the RoofersCoffeeShop.com have made enough money to pay for it's existence. But I hope someday the tables will turn and it can support all of the efforts made by the staff that keeps it going.

Using the Forum for any source of free promotion is not cool but If I feel that it could be in the best interest of a company, our site or you the contractor I will do it.

Part of the problem in writing here is that you cannot hear the tone of the voice or the expression of the face when someone is replying or posting. So unfortunately I am taking your quotation marks above the wrong way.

I care about this industry and truly believe that there are a lot of great contractors that are going to be left behind by not embracing the internet.

As I worked on optimizing our site I realize consumers are going to find us so I needed to come up with good content for consumers. If I have consumers on the site I should figure out how to use their visit to generate leads for you guys. when I typed in 'Roofers' (not 'Roofing') I kept seeing E-Locals site so I went on and saw that they built inexpensive websites for roofers which is what really caused me to contact them. We had many conversations and I thought they were great people. I was very impressed with how they spoke about their customers and their way of doing business so we came up with a plan. Instead of me continuing to try and put create interesting content for consumers I just link to theirs. Instead of them trying to provide interesting content for roofers they are linking to me. Instead of me trying to recreate the wheel with lead generation by adding my site to a list of hundreds I let them get you the leads, which are free to you if you are their client. I believe that you pay for them with the other lead generation sites like SM.

I just thought I was killing about 12 birds with one stone. We now have a low cost resource to recommend for website building, internet exposure with the online yellow pages, free referrals and as a bonus I have another advertiser that I am happy to do business with. So I did feel it in the best interest of them, me and you to promote them on my forum. I thought it helps all of us and I couldn't see a downside.

I am sorry that you think they are annoying, many, many companies are happy. They are trying to sell you yellow page space which you guys will need because someday they may not be anymore printed yellow pages.

Well I hope you understand how I came up with this post. I wanted you guys to get you free link and to let you know they were out there.

If he is a paying advertiser...I just dont follow.

Vickie....I understand you are the boss, but it does seem as though he makes a valid point. I Googled it and he is right...his name comes up first.

And as for E Local......I appreciate you "alerting" us to them as a free method of advertising that you "came upon".....but they are a pain in the ass, always calling to sell something like SM.

I have never had a website or tried to use the internet for getting work. I don't want to invest a fortune for no return. I am trying to find inexpensive ways of "testing" the web market.

Frank....I done a domain search on your site. If I buy a domain then where do I go to have a website built? How do you get listed on Google and such? Kind of sucks my companies name is taken and FOR SALE for $2500 :(

Corey...What is your email?

Thanks! Randy
