I know this guy through associates . A good guy put in a crunch by his own delusion and needs . This is a lesson to all of us especially in this economy . Oh yeah it's just the media   B)

Actually, I get it. But just because you were owed the money doesn't mean you can take a check made out to someone else's business, fraudulently open a bank account and then divert a check intended for your employer and put it into the account you set up. Based on what you said, you sound like you were trying to save this guys reputation and solve the problem with the home owner. It also sounds like you broke the law in the process. Although your intentions might have been innocent, your actions weren't.

What state are you in? What are the licensing requirements where you are?

No one seems to understand that I did not steal his money.. It's much to the contrary.

What you did was definitely illegal. His addiction, reckless behavior and lack of business savvy is good reason for you to quit or walk away but it does not justify theft and/or fraud. Get a public defender, and delete- this post. Apologize for steeling his money, offer restitution and do whatever you have to to make the criminal charges go away (or just do the time).

Regarding the money owed to you, you might just have to kiss that money good by. Any real chance of ever collecting that money, I suspect, went out the window when you committed bank fraud.

Your future success in this business IMO starts with always doing the right thing. Your integrity can never be taken away, but it can be thrown away.

Do the right thing!!!

And delete-- this post before it haunts you forever.

Sounds like you will have to man up and get on with your life . You enabled him let him off enabled him again . From what you have said you knew all along what was going on . Angry yes made a fool of your own doing . Sorry this is not a business for the meek and foolish . Dig down deep and get on with your life . Be glad you still have it . This lesson will haunt you for the rest of your life to the point you may try it on some one else . Traumatic events like this come back and we embrace it , Until we truly know what it is we are doing and most importantly " Why " You have had a very traumatic experience . You are very vulnerable . Don't be foolish and do something stupid . Find out why you let someone take advantage of you . Be whole .
