The beauty of the pacific northwest, the landscaping reminds me of a time in my life a long time ago.

It was very much planted by design. There's a very extensive perimeter flashing system covering whatever elevates the whole roof 10 " or so. There are numerous solar tubes and pipes that have black plastic collars holding the dirt (er "planting medium") back. The paper did a story about the guy that does this and said it costs 3 to 4 times as much as a regular roof. It also looks much weedier than shows up in the picture.

Is that moss growing on a built-up roof, or did they plant it on there?
