Do exposed fastener roofs perform better on steel structures?

Hey folks..

Do exposed fastener installers notice more failures on wooden structures than steel? And is that because the steel structures are expanding and contracting at the same rate as the roofing, minimizing hole elongation and screw loosening?

Thanks
