Hmmm, none of Max's photos show for me, except the very first one in the thread.
they used 8 inch cedar siding cut into 10 inch pieces with a 5 inch exposure all better now
My wife and I owned a couple of Volvo station wagons back in the day. Had a brown one and then a blue one. Let me tell you; you can certainly haul stuff in them. Real yuppies don't own Volvos. Not expensive enough and not sleek enough. Well, not one that's at least five years old anyway. lol.
Love the workmanship on the dealboards there in the photo. Waste not want not.
My brother doing it the old-fashioned way: Rock and Roll
Three years ago the yuppie couple got quotes on putting on new cedar shingles on their gazebo. The quotes came in from $1950 to $2375. They were mortified and decided to do it themselves. They tore off the old cedar shingles and got discouraged when it took six weeks to recover from sore muscles and blistered hands and slivers in the butt cheeks. Over the past two years they have managed to haul the debris away in bags in the back of their Volvo. This years New Years resolution was to roof the gazebo as it has become a weathered eyesore in the neighbourhood. They have now reached the point of nailing on the 12" pieces of fence boards they had cut at Home Depot and brought home in the Volvo. They have come to the conclusion that something just doesn't look like it did three years ago and they give Max the roofer a call.
1x and no starter either. I think a HO had an idea, then found out he had no idea at all about what to do.
No accidents here I meant can anybody identify the materials being used
