hey do you know if there are any American made gun nails for shingles. I have a government contract (reroofing a housing project) where I must use all American made products and I have been told by one supplier that there aren't any gun nails that are american made. thanks. Bye the way, I'm new here and I'm looking forward to getting to know everybody.

Yep, pennies to keep our countrymen working! That's worth it! Good luck on the project.

P.S. Talk to where ever you're getting the nails from and let them know that you're buying in bulk. Try to get a discount...or, you could try to contact Maze directly (if you haven't).

Well it looks like I have to buy the Maze nails at $55 for a box of 3600 nails..(regular gun nails come 7200/box and cost me about $22)....That equals $5 a square extra, just for US nails....but the money is for putting the US economy back to work, so I'm not complaining. Thanks for the help guys.

lanny Said: ---I checked them out. Sadly 7,200 coil roofing is over $200 for hot dipped galv & $150 for electro-galv. That is why people do not buy American. Lanny

Really? That can't be right. Made in America or not, $200. way unreasonable.

"I think only Maize has an american mill for hand nails" Yep. That's why I buy from them. My Vaugh suits me for a hammer. You know, I never have tried a hatchet. Interesting.

Oldschool, the roofing hatchet is a good idea- but his basic problem will remain- finding american made nails

even american made hand nails are hard to find- I think only Maize has an american mill for hand nails- everything else I see says made in Korea or Made in china. stephen

Try an AJC roofing hatchet. I put down thousands of squares with them, and my cousins still make them. Grandpa Crookston invented them in the early 50's
