You’re Invited to IKO’s First-Ever Virtual Profit Power Workshop

IKO Virtual Profit Power Workshop
July 9, 2020 at 6:00 a.m.

By Lauren White, RCS Reporter.

Learn ways your business can take the lead in the new pandemic era as professionals share tips, resources and tools that can be implemented immediately.

For the first time ever, IKO Industries Inc. is hosting a virtual Profit Power Workshop.  Available to members of IKO’s ROOFPRO Loyalty Program or contractors interested in applying, this free, half-day webinar on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, will focus on education, conversation and tangible tools that can be put to use immediately.  Learn how to achieve your business goals as the current business landscape continues to evolve.

In his first session, “The Primal Sales Model,” Scott Siegal, president of Certified Contractors Network (CCN), will share how to develop an elevator pitch to represent your brand and engage your customers using customer behavior and neuroscience.  During “Virtual Sales,” Scott will reveal ways to modify your in-home sales pitch to an engaging virtual selling process.  Presented by Veronica Cool, CEO of Cool & Associates, “Adapting to Change,” will cover tools, resources and best practices needed to adapt your business for success during and after a pandemic.

These two speakers will be live-streamed during morning and afternoon sessions, which will allow IKO members throughout the United States and Canada to attend.  Similar to the in-person events IKO hosts, the focus will be on education in order to help ROOFPRO members and prospects grow their businesses.  Due to the “new normal,” virtual selling and adapting a business to the pandemic era will be a large focus of the sessions as well.  The main difference is that you can enjoy this virtual event from the comfort of your own desk!

Jeff Williams, the Director of Branding and Marketing North America at IKO will provide opening and closing remarks for both sessions.  The morning session will take place from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. EST and the afternoon session starts at 1:30 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m. EST.

About Scott Siegal

Scott was introduced to roofing at the age of 14 when he had a summer job holding ladders on jobsites.  Eventually, Scott went from holding ladders to learning how to measure and diagnose problems.  Just two years later, at age 16, he joined a crew and worked summers throughout college.

After graduating, he moved to Washington, D.C., and got a job in mortgage banking, while still roofing part time.  Six months after he started his banking job, Scott realized that many of his coworkers were miserable and didn’t like their jobs.  That’s when, at 23 years old, Scott started a roofing business with his brother, even though he had no prior knowledge about running a roofing business.

The company was successful and survived the 1992 recession.  However, Scott knew the company had more potential.  “I bought three other roofing companies along the way thinking that is how I would grow the business,” Scott said.  He decided to attend a seminar and heard Bob Perry speak about the problems roofers face, all of which Scott could relate to.  When he asked Bob where to find the solutions, Bob handed him a cassette tape of Richard Kaller, the founder of Certified Contractors Network.  “I listened to the tape and thought, ‘this guy knows what’s up,’” Scott stated.

Scott attended the next CCN conference and, “It blew my mind,” he shared.  “There were actually people around who knew what they were doing...I never expected to be a roofer and couldn’t find training.  The only training was how to install a shingle.  There wasn’t any real training on how to run a business.”

He later joined CCN, which changed the trajectory of his business.  Through the years the company grew, made profits and developed a partnership with IKO.  This partnership has allowed CCN to, “Revamp systems, processes and training,” according to Scott.  “We’ve been teaching the financials for years at CCN, but now we’ve put together a contractor’s toolkit.  We are coaching them through how to run the business from every aspect...We have one of the top neuroscientists in the country working with us to tear apart our sales process and put it back together.”

About Veronica Cool
