ServiceCon 2025 will bring together the best minds in the roofing industry to explore innovative strategies for scaling service divisions, integrating sales and service and creating sustainable business models. We recently spoke with Will Riley, the head of the conference, to learn more about the inception of this event and why he believes it’s crucial to provide practical, actionable insights for service leaders.
Will grew up in the roofing industry, sharing, “My dad has been in the business for 40 years, so it’s kind of what I grew up doing.” He came into the industry on the software side which exposed him to the service operations of companies. “I’ve installed software across hundreds of different roofing contractors and that exposed me to a lot of different shapes and sizes. Not all contractors are the same... What I found more of a passion around is contractors that are focused on service leading efforts because that really grabbed a whole lot more opportunity as they managed their customers,” he added.
Unlike traditional trade shows or conferences, ServiceCon 2025 will prioritize interaction and provide actionable takeaways. Will told us, “I don’t want this to be a normal conference where you just show up and listen. Attendees will have an app where they can capture action items and get reminders to implement them once they return to their businesses.”
The agenda will focus on practical strategies for growing a service division, from starting with one truck to managing a large team. “We’ll cover everything from scaling beyond five trucks to creating a service model that lives on without you,” he explained.
In his presentation during the conference, Will plans to address one of the key challenges many contractors face – integrating sales and service teams. “Technicians on roofs encounter sales opportunities, and they can bring more work to the business,” he shared. If departments can create systems that allow for seamless intercommunication, businesses will see an increase in both efficiency and profitability as their service departments bring internal leads for their sales team to close.
Whether you’re a business owner, department head or another decision-maker in the company, ServiceCon 2025 is for you. Will shared, “You want your service department leadership there. We’re focusing on strategy and high-level management to help companies grow their service divisions.”
