This year’s recipients of the SDRCA’s Build a Roof act is a mother and son who were in dire need of a new roof. The two were in need of a new roof for quite some time and the SDRCA was able to grant them a brand new one.
This new roof could not have come at a better time. The mother had been on disability for ten years and she suffers from chronic migraines. Unfortunately, her son is also disabled as he was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down.
The roof that needs to be replaced is in horrible shape. It’s a 25 –year-old roof with a three-tab shingle but many of the tabs have broken off. There is also excessive granule loss and a persistent leak in the living room.
The SDRCA is looking to assemble a team of contractors under the project management of Gary Gilmore from Good-Men Roofing to donate their time and materials to carry out this good deed. Several companies have already donated, and SDRCA is currently in need of installers. Please visit their website to find out more about how you can contribute to the cause.
The SDRCA's Build a Roof initiative is a remarkable act of kindness that has a profound impact on families in need. The generosity of the community and the dedication of contractors who donate their time and resources to carry out this act is a testament to the power of collective action. The new roof for Andrea and Kaya Hall will not only provide protection from the elements but also improve their quality of life. The SDRCA's ongoing efforts to help those in need are truly inspiring and continue to make a positive impact on the community.
