RE: Roofing Construction & Essential Service
CRA Members,
As you may be aware, a stay-at-home order has been issued by Governor Polis along with most counties and municipalities across Colorado. However, most of these jurisdictions have listed construction as an essential service and is allowing roofing to continue on new construction and on the exterior of existing buildings.
There are various restrictions to this exemption including social distancing while working, using gloves and/or masks as necessary and not entering the building you are working on. We encourage you to check any orders in place in your local jurisdiction and the jurisdiction/s for any jobs you intend to work on, prior to scheduling work.
We have provided information and links to stay at home orders, building dept updates, legal, HR and financial resources and more at our CRA website https://www.coloradoroofing.org/news/covid-19-information-and-resources and will update this information for you as it becomes available.
We as an industry are fortunate to be able to continue operating our businesses here in Colorado when so many other businesses have been forced to close. To protect your employees, your customers and the general public, it is imperative that you require your employees to work safely and within the guidelines set up by the Centers for Disease Control and the State of Colorado. We in the roofing industry must follow these guidelines to ensure that we are doing our part to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19!
Work smart, be careful and we will all get through this together.

Updated 3/25/2020
Despite one or two exceptions, construction is being listed as an essential service in each of the public health orders issued this week. This means we are keeping our people in the industry working across the State.
See the current update for Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder (City and County), Denver, Douglas, Jefferson counties and more on our COVID-19 Information Resource page
Construction businesses are considered critical by the state and are exempt. See press conference coverage here.
Your projects can continue, but please be sure to follow the precautions for your workers outlined by the CDC and OSHA. Links are available on the information page we started last week.
COVID-19 Information & Resources:
CRA has started a page at coloradoroofing.org for you to refer to for information and resources while navigating COVID-19 and implementing changes at your workplace.
