August 24, 2018 at 4:06 p.m.

Join Tremco for its next Tremco Talks webinar to discover why building science is cool.

This presentation is for architects, engineers, facility managers and building owners interested in increasing their knowledge of the application and use of air barriers in the building envelopes of commercial and multi-family residential buildings.

What is the typical ROI when considering the improved energy efficiency after building envelope air leakage is remediated?

Researchers, architects, and code writers have shown that attention to specific details in both new and retrofitted building envelopes results in better performing buildings with increased comfort and more extended durability. This presentation discusses the concept of the building as a system, where the impact of building air leakage will affect the building’s sustainability, durability, occupant comfort, health, productivity and overall energy efficiency.

The presentation will also include a brief description of the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program and how you may be able to take advantage of its innovative mechanism for financing energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements on private property.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the definition of a high-performance building and the importance of air and moisture management to occupants.
  2. Understand the connection of the Building Envelope and the impact it has on the facilities durability, sustainability, energy efficiency, occupancy comfort/health and IAQ.
  3. Understand the application differences between Air Barrier product types for new construction/major façade retrofit vs. remediation of existing buildings.
  4. To understand what causes Building Air Leakage in the existing asset, how to remediate it and how it impacts the energy efficiency of the building and what typical ROI can be expected.
  5. To understand what the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) is, the states that participate, and resources to learn more.

IFMA Competency: Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
