Women in Roofing are Stronger Than Ever!

NWIR 2021-2022 Trends
January 25, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

By Evelyn Witterholt.

An inside look at National Women in Roofing’s latest annual report shows that their association is growing in membership numbers and council locations.

Over the past few decades, more and more women have shown an interest in working in the roofing industry. One of the ways women have found a sense of support in the industry is by joining the National Women in Roofing (NWIR) organization. In their latest annual report, they found that their membership numbers are increasing and will likely continue to grow as they make plans for the future.

Here are some highlights from the report:

Continuous growth in numbers

Last year, NWIR had reached 2,100 members, which is a 23% increase from the previous year! The organization currently has 60 councils across the nation. Each council location serves as a place for women to strengthen their bonds with other industry members and advance their own professional careers.

Learning opportunities

Another great benefit NWIR offers is educational opportunities. In 2021 and 2022, the organization provided 45+ educational sessions and they reported that on average, 140 members register for each session. Some of the session topics included: “The Science of Safety,” “Financial Wellness and Independence” and “Being ‘The Only’ in the Room: Blending In, Leaning In and Stepping Up!”

Stronger online presence

Last year, NWIR saw growth in all three areas of their online presence. They had 40,684 people view their website, with over half of those being unique visitors. The open rate and click-through rate of their email newsletter is higher than that of the national average. On their social media channels, the organization saw an 18% increase in the number of followers across all channels as well as over 30,000 engagements.

The numbers don’t lie! NWIR is growing by the minute. Read the rest of the report today.
